be careful in what or who you cuddle

Be careful

Today is story time here on The (Almost) Daily Art Sparkle.
So sit down, relax and listen:

I found this doggie
Took him home
Thought he could be my pet
Turned out that he was the boss
Oh, what a waste of love!
Or… was I only learning?

This story is a lesson on following or cuddling the wrong ideas, things or people.

WHY??

Why?

Why do we exist?  Who or what made us? Existential questions we all ask ourselves sometimes in our life, I guess. There will be thousands of different answers to those questions, all of them theoretical.
Sometimes I think that I may never find a satisfying answer and maybe the questions itself are not that relevant.
Maybe the only important thing to ask myself  is ‘HOW do I live?’ How do I live my life? This one life that I have. Do I add any value with what I do or don’t? Do I see the beauty that is all around me? Do I love enough? Do I live enough?
And if my answer is ‘no’ to any of these questions, how can I make changes?

the wise cat

‘Don’t watch so much Netflix’, that  is what the cat sitting in front of the television set seems to be saying. She is very wise…

Have a nice and sweet weekend

A quick drawing made with white paintpen on a background of acrylics. May your weekend be as nice as the sun and as sweet as the pink in this piece of art.

tulip-time!!

Tulip-time!

I love tulips. They are happy flowers and they come in a lot of colors. They always give me that springtime feeling, even when its winter’. What I also like about them is that they are so easy to capture in simple forms or lines. It is no wonder that they are our national flower here in The Netherlands.

Happy Twenty Twenty

Happy Twenty Twenty

This is ‘lady 2020’! I made her on december 31. I think she represents my goals for this brandnew year. Made out of old paintings, cardboard, glue and lots of glittering goldpaint, she wants to send color and sparkles into the world as much as possible. Feel free to join her and me on our adventures on my blog, instagram and facebook.
Wishing you all a beautiful Twenty Twenty!!

the ice cold shining city

the ice cold shining city

I made this piece in an artjournal, using all sort of media like ink, markers, acrylic paint, acryla gouache  and more.
Making it I kept wondering what it was about. And about what time of the year it was representing. Summer? Springtime? None seemed to fit.

This morning I stepped outside. The weather was very bright and it was very cold. The garden looked beautiful with its frosted plants. Everything was turned into white and pastel colors. And then I knew what this piece of art is about: it tells about ice, frost, cold and a very bright sun and how all this melts together in beauty.
