Hi, six years ago on this day, my mother died. From then on we were orphans, since my father had died a couple of years before her. In memory of them I repost this story that tells a little bit about us as a family when we were children.
Talk about what really moves you!
This is a note to myself. Lately I catch myself complaining a lot. That doesn’t do me or anyone around me any good. and it sucks the energy out of me.
This is a poem (in Dutch) about a king and his music.

I love to draw ladies with hats. I don’t know why. Maybe because my mother would always wear hats when I was a little girl.

As a teenager in the late 60-s and 70-s I read this magazine called Tina. It was full of comics about girls. They were either to good to be true or to mean to be true. Real goodies and baddies. I loved it. This drawing that I made a couple of days ago, reminds me of that Tina-style. Maybe that teenager still exists somewhere inside of me…
finding the words
is like finding the colors
you were looking for
all day in your studio
you almost gave up…
but, thank God, you didn’t
and look, there they are
shining bright and clear from
the canvas right into your heart
